Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-55NE HDD suddenly not showing up

Hello everyone I just want to ask some help about my Predator Helios PH315-54-55NE. I just bought my laptop last month and also added the HDD at the same time. Then after 3 weeks the disk icon appears with "?" and cannot detect the files on explorer but the disk's serial number appeared on BIOS. And After 5 weeks the icon together with the files totally gone on explorer but again It showed on BIOS. I already tried to changed the path and also partitioned the HDD it but after a week the disk is not showing again. What I need to do?

The HDD's read/write head is likely hitting the platter. It is failing. Any attempt to re-partition and re-format will only temporarily resolve the problem by marking bad areas, but not new areas that will eventually go bad as well. You need to replace the drive.

Probably not. Just inconvenient if it keeps losing more storage areas. How old is this HDD?

@JackE I bought it last month together with the laptop. Actually they are both under warranty but I'm already here in other country so I cant decide if I will replace the hdd by myself or I will wait for another year to replace it where I bought it. Btw thanks for your help.

You shouldn't affect the laptop warranty --- which is expensive --- by replacing the HDD --- which is cheap.

However, the problem with waiting another year, is that the vendor might claim the one-year HDD warranty has expired. Unless you trust the vendor wouldn't do such a thing. Accordingly, I think you should IMMEDIATELY contact the vendor via email, snailmail or other convenient way on this HDD issue just to make sure the vendor will honor the HDD warranty next year when you return. Get it in writing.
