@Bopols Your model support M.2 SATA only. Using Windows in the SSD will give much less time to boot and loading apps. If you tend to play games or use many tasks, upgrading to 8GB will give better performance.

    Hi,
Yes, you can use a M.2 NVMe SSD in your model, you can also add another 8GB module if you want to upgrade memory.

Because of its age, you must remove 3 screws from HDD RAM door to see if the SATA SSD card socket (F) has one M-key or two B+M keys.

If one M-key, you can install an NVME or SATA card but both may only operate at SATA speeds. If two keys, you can only install SATA card.

You can also change the 2.5" HDD (C) to a 2.5" SSD which should speed up your system quite a bit.

You don't have to change RAM if you don't want to.

And due to availability on my country. this is the beset SSD i can get .

For the 8Gb RAM. Please advise what should i get and if it is compatible. what i have is stock 8GB DDR4. So should i get the attached Samsung DDR4 8gb Ram 2666MHz or even 3200MHz is compatible  ? Please advise,

If you have a 2400MHz memory module at the moment, you can use a 8GB DDR4 2400 MHz module so that your system can utilise the dual channel feature, as for the M.2 SSD, I would suggest you get a M.2 NVMe SSD, it may run at half the speed advertised by the manufacturer because this model has only 2 lanes are enabled for PCIe but it still 3 times faster than a M.2 SATA SSD, in some cases NVMe SSDs are slightly cheaper than M.2 SATA SSD.

Is Samsung the only NVME option you have to buy in your country? It seems to have more compatibility issues than other even cheaper brands like WesternDigital.

For dual channel mode, a pair of closely matched frequency RAM modules should  be used. However, there won't be that much noticeable difference in speed if not an exact match.

All replies have been very helpful. Yes i am targeting atleast gaming and atleast increase the fps significantly...

I will check if it can accept NVMe and SATA. but if both will only work at SATA speed, then powerful NVMe chip will just be a waste right ?

Any preffered SATA SSD ? Planning to get Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe 250gb. Then use it as Primary drive and the stock HDD as Storage...

Also, SSD will just be improving my boot time. not Performance. am i right ?

So best thing for me to do is Add another 8gb (it has another slot) to atleast boost a bit in gaming. maybe it will increase my fps or no ?

The biggest speed bang for money is to boot from an SSD. I recommend the WesternDigital blue series tor this machine. Either replace the 2.5" HDD with a 2.5 SSD. Or add a m.2 NVME (if a single M-key socket). More RAM will also increase speed --- but not noticeably as much as an SSD.

So best for me is to get the Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe, and get similar 8gb Ram like what i have in stock. any kind of brand is ok or it has to be identical ?
