I have a brand new A514 -54 which I have bought to replace an ageing laptop.  I have cloned the windows 10 partitions from my old laptop onto a brand new 1TB NVME (ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro configured as GPT) when I swap the drives over the aspire does not boot although the new NVME is visible in the BIOS as a device.  Is there a setting I need to change in the BIOS to use the new NVME drive?  The new aspire came with windows 11, the old laptop is windows 10

    Hi,
It may not have cloned properly, you could try backup the image and recover the image on to the new drive or use another program like Minitool Partition wizard to clone again.

thanks, it doesn't even recognise the nvme if it's a bare drive, I think it's something in the BIOS needs to be set
  • The correct thing is to make a cloning, using the a514-54. Also, this model has called vmd controller in bios. I advise enabling safeboot on windows and then disabling vmd controller.
