Power Options

Does anyone else have a problem with the Power - sleep/hibernate/shutdown function on a AS15 SSD PC. The functions appear to work intermittently. Sometimes if I select "sleep" it does not sleep - it stays on - runs hot - overheats and stops working until it's cooled down. the same thing happens from time to time with "hibernate" as well. Any solutions or should I return the item as it's 4 months old

Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do'. All settings on battery & plugged in should be set to sleep mode, none to hibernate. Also click 'change settings that are currently unavailable'. Scroll down and uncheck the box for fast startup if not already unchecked. Shut down Windows normally.

Thank you to all that have responded - I have been around the "button" loop a couple of times already, but the issue is, when I click on sleep or hibernate - it stays on, it does not shut down after a period (as I have set), it stays on and overheats. But - I will check all the power settings again. Thanks everyone.

Do not try to use hibernate. It is still buggy on some machines!!!

Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do'. All settings on battery & plugged in should be set to sleep mode, none to hibernate. Also click 'change settings that are currently unavailable'. Scroll down and uncheck the boxes for fast startup & hibernate if not already unchecked. Shut down Windows normally.
