Monitor black but backlit, can't get it off the wall, can't get model/SNID
Hi, I'm in the UK.
I bought a monitor a few years ago, maybe 2017/18 but can't remember exactly, I've tried looking back through emails but can't find anything and can't remember where I bought it.
I think it's a 32" 1440p monitor, there's no speakers on it, it has a white back and sides, black bezels around the screen itself, a single HDMI input and a couple of other ports (DVI? and something else) on one side of the kinda back housing thing and a kettle lead style power port on the other side.
There are 5 small curved buttons on the bottom, a power button and 4 other buttons.
It used to have these little ribbons that you pull down to release it from the wall mounted bracket, but the ribbons have long since disintegrated.
It came with us when we moved house in 2019 and I wall mounted it behind my desk.
Yesterday it went black, I was using it at the time, all was fine then it just didn't display anything. It's being backlit because you can see the colour changing when you power it on, the laptop also recognises it because you can drag things into the empty blackness but there's nothing on the screen, I can't get any settings up either, you know, the monitor settings you bring up with the buttons on the bottom.
Previously when you powered it on you it would display something that indicated it was searching the various inputs for a signal, I don't get that any more.
I've tried taking pictures/video of the plate on the back with the model details etc but I can't get far enough away to get a focussed picture, they're all too blurry apart from I think the model Number starts with an E and at the top of the plate it says "LCD Monitor".
I've tried swapping power leads.
I've tried unplugging the power and holding the power button for 30 seconds then powering it back on.
I seriously doubt this is HDMI related given that it's not displaying anything prior to aquiring a signal but I tried a different cable from a different feed anyway.
I would be good if I could get it working again but firstly, I think I need to try and get it off the wall, once I get to that point I can either raise something with Acer and/or replace it when that can be afforded.
i've tried calling Acer but couldn't figure out how to get through without an SNID.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks
