Acer XV240Y monitor w/Acer Swift laptop compatibility issue

Hello,
I am unable to connect my monitor with my laptop.

Laptop: Acer Swift SF314-42, 64 bit.
Monitor: Acer XV240Y Pbmiiprx LCD Monitor.

I just get "no signal" on the monitor, and I can't detect it while searching on the laptop either. I have tried almost everything I can think of to diagnose the problem, to no avail.

Things I have tried:
-different HDMI cable
-downloading new drivers.
-using a USB-C hub on the laptop and connecting an HDMI cable through that

Other diagnostic information:
-the monitor successfully connects to multiple other laptops I have (using same HDMI port).
-the laptop successfully connects to other monitors I have (using the same HDMI port).

I am completely stumped. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Any help would be very appreciated.

Have you tried pressing F5 or FN+F5 to turn screen on?
