On my AN515-56 I'm running a 2.5" 2TB SSD the Samsung 870 EVO SATA III 2.5 inch SSD (these drives come in capacities from 250GB to 4TB) while the Samsung 870 QVO SATA III 2.5 inch SSD the only difference is that these drives comes in capacities from 1TB to 8TB. Btw, I’ve used Samsung 2.5” SSD’s for many years and they are a very reliable, solid performing quick drive that is perfect for a slave drive as it will last even longer. Btw, the AN515-56 has a very annoying SATA/Cable to mobo setup and plug in connection system so be careful as its tiny and very delicate to connect to as you can damage the flat cable pins very easily.

Also in in the BIOS settings make sure that at “Advanced > Intel VTD” that this settings is on “Disabled” as I had problems with the 2.5” SSD not being recognised while this setting was enabled. Also you can use any of the mechanical drives from Seagate, WD as they work very well also at a budget price.
