can a acer aspire A315-53 accept a crucial mx 500 ssd

i have just bought a crucial 1TB MX500 SSD hardrive to replace my existing standard 1TB drive in my Aspire A315-53-88N3 according to crucial's website it should fit my laptop but when i use the usb cable adaptor provided with it so i can clone my drive the laptop will not see it. is there problem with the drive or is it that its not compatible?

    Should be compatible. Press Win+R. Enter 'diskmgmt.msc". Do you see the mx500 listed? Might have to be initialized by right clicking on it.

    I used "diskmgmt.msc" to check my Toshiba USB HDD, it shows it.  BUT MY WINDOWS EXPLORED WILL NOT SHOW IT AT ALL, either formated with NTFS or exFAT.  What's up with that?

    You must assign a drive letter to the Toshiba. Like D : \  or E : \.. Otherwise FlleExplore can't see it. You want NTFS formatting.
