aspire 514-54 unable to install OS

I bought a new aspire a514-54 11th gen icore3 8gb ram with 256gb kinston nvme ssd. after few weeks the whole partition of the drive suddenly been gone. when I open the laptop it shows no bootable error so I tried to use a bootable USB windows 10 home and pro. For the first try I didnt see my kinston drive, 2nd try and with some readings, I found out that I need to install the drivers "IRST Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver", I donwloaded it via the acer support page and use it to install the drive. It was a success but it shows no partition at all so I created one where the installation should proceed and this is where I am having hard time. I keep getting the installation failed error message. Tried to use 2 other bootable usb which worked well with our other laptops but still failed. I already tried installing with secure enable/disabled boot option but still no luck. current bios option is also v1.17.

any help is appriciated. Thank you!

OK I found the solution a very very simple one. Sharing this one to all that might be running into this same problem and scenario.

The solution is after disabling the VMD, and that the storage is now being shown upon the start of installation, DO NOT PARTITION IT. let windows do the partitioning itself. LEAVE IT as there were no partition at all. This way the installation proceeded. LOL I almost lost my mind there. I dont know whats the reason behind it but that is what it wanted.Just so happy that the installation went through.

zachD, I don’t know how this happened “after few weeks the whole partition of the drive suddenly been gone”? As that just doesn’t happen for no reason, is there anything else that you have done to your laptop to cause that? As that could be crucial to reviving your laptop.

If you haven’t formatted the 256GB Kinston NVMe SSD OEM drive and/or wipped the old Win-10 Home OS off, you can try to get the "Troubleshoot menu and do a System Restore or a Startup Repair” by rebooting the laptop and as soon as the ACER LOGO appears, tap the F11 key. Make sure you tap it repeatedly and that you start doing so right away. In the event that the F11 key doesn’t work, try the F8 or Shift+F8. It may or may not work but it’s worth trying if the F11 key doesn’t.

If that doesn’t work then have a look at this guide “M.2 SSD is not detected in the BIOS or Windows 10” as its got numerous different extensive steps that should fix your 256GB Kinston NVMe SSD OEM drive to be recognised and for you to install Win-10 or 11 OS onto this laptop. Also, update to the v1.22 bios as it will improve performance of your laptop.

Hi Steven, thank you for answering unfortunately and like I said before there is no longer a partition where the restore or fix can be retrieved from so I got no other option but to totally create a new partition. This can only happen every time I install the driver INTEL RST at the beginning of the installation set up of Windows. but then again, the error windows cannot install the required file. Tried several fix for this like creating a new bootable usb using a new windows image, used 2 different one.

@zachD in the BIOS, main tab, press CTRL+S and disable the VMD controller. If you still cannot reinstall the Windows, bring it back to the place that you have bought or contact local Acer for warranty.

Hello! I did this and it enabled the kingston to be found without installing the IRST drivers right? however and still the error "windows cannot install the required file." continues. I am running out of answers really, how or what the hell is really wrong with this kingston nvme

@zachD I suspect that the SSD has failed so it cannot read nor write the Windows file. Contact the vendor to see if they can do anything.
