i bought an acer nitro 517-54 with an intel i7-11800h cpu and  an rtx 3060 laptop gpu and windows 11. while playing games like gta v, doom eternal and valorant (i tried lowering the graphics) and it averages 92c and i have checked my vents they are clean, i also tried limiting my cpu usage in power plan and it lowered the temp but i was getting 30 fps. what do i do to lower the temp. (p.s. its past the refund date)

Try simply bridging the laptop between two books so that the center exhaust vent is at least an 1" above a hard surface. Should see  5*C-10*C drop.

Search Acer Nitro Sense in Windows start menu. Click Acer nitro sense app. Check for cooling options therein. There is a nitro sense app update at this link if the latest version isn't already installed.

Do what you did to start the old version of Nitro Sense. It should now be replaced with the new version. If you see the same temperature results, and you're not seeing any evidence of thermal throttling so far, then download a few of the top rated femp freeware monitors shown in this link to double-check what Nitro Sense is showing.

Throttling means the frame rates start to drop noticeably. Or game videos stutter & aren't smooth anymore. The CPU/GPU automatically start to throttle noticeably as average (not peak) temperatures rise above about 94*C in order to cool down.

Well, what  temp app did you use to measure temps while playing games before? You want to compare those temperatures with the temperatures you measure with the downloaded temp app. You want to see if 92*C measured with the old temp app is the same 92*C measured with the downloaded temp app.  If they're  not the same, then the temperatures measured are not accurate.

    (2) Are you using Chrome or Edge to play these games?
