Does anybody know if PS5 VRR will work with adaptive sync in my Predator XB323U monitor? XBOX series x works pretty well, but I plugged in my PS5 and it does not work at all. PS5 has VRR enabled in the settings and I am playing Warzone. This monitor has HDMI 2.1 support and I understand VRR is part of the HDMI 2.1 standard so this technically should work for PS5 as well.

Yeah, my model does have HDMI 2.1 so it’s surprising that it didn’t work for ps5 but it does work for Xbox series x

So it should work, adaptive sync is listed as supported on the HDMI 2.1 in the service guide, although

The only thing in the guide is things which turn it off, so it says the overdrive needs to be normal and the light sense needs to be off. And that the OSD should reflect the current refresh rate . It could be that warzone hasnt had it turned on yet? Do you have any of these games to test it:

Right, it should work, and it does work for Xbox series x on warzone. The thing about overdrive is that when VRR is on, the monitor greys out the overdrive setting to normal and does not let you change it at all. I’ve read on the internet that this is a limitation from this monitor since there are other monitors that do let you change the overdrive while on VRR. I also have an ASUS ROG strip that allows me to do this, I wish Acer improves this in a future update though.

As of testing with other games, that’s a good point, im going to test it with vanguard and see what happens, I just assumed that Warzone had VRR support for consoles in general since it does have support for it on Xbox; it might be that Warzone still does not have support for it on PS5. I’ll test and reply back here with my findings.

@Leostat just wanted to report here that you were right! it looks like Warzone is not updated to use VRR on PS5 yet. I proved this by launching vanguard and seeing that VRR worked like a charm. Funny thing is that I was able to actually also have the overdrive on extreme while on VRR, this is something that was greyed out with the Xbox series x, no idea why. Hopefully Warzone is updated soon.
