I bought an Acer aspire a515-46-3rub from amazon recently and i saw that it said you can change the fan speed between silent, normal, and performance by using the function key and F, I have tried it but it did not change, I went into bios and there is nothing there about controlling fan speed. Do I need a software or something or I can't change the speed?\

    >>>Open AcerCareCenter and AcerQuickAccess and search 'fan' in Windows start menu to check for enabling/disabling this hotkey combo. If nothing, re-enter the BIOS and press Ctrl+S in both the MAIN & ADVANCED tabs to reveal any hidden options related to fan or FN key  behavior..Also try WIN+FN+F triple combo.>>>I tried it, nothing in bios>>>

Please recheck you BIOS MAIN tab again for the Function key behavior option. Change option. You might have to press Ctrl+S to reveal if hidden.
If still no FN key option, then go to this link to download, unzip and install the latest Win11 QuickAcess app.

I found it thank you for your help. Very much appreciated.

Some but not all A515s had this feature. Most with Win10. Does it still have Win10 installed?

It came with Windows 11 and it was advertised with that feature.

Open AcerCareCenter and AcerQuickAccess and search 'fan' in Windows start menu to check for enabling/disabling this hotkey combo. If nothing, re-enter the BIOS and press Ctrl+S in both the MAIN & ADVANCED tabs to reveal any hidden options related to fan or FN key  behavior..Also try WIN+FN+F triple combo.

I tried it, nothing in bios but in QuickAccess I saw usage and I saw the 3 fan modes there, just can't get the hot key function. I tried the triple combo and it brings up the feedback hub.

Do the 3 QuickAccess fan modes actually seem to do anything?

I Have the quick access app installed, I can control the fan from there but I can't control it from the hotkey. I went into bios as you said and change the function key behavior and it still didn't work. I see no option for a fan speed control hot key anywhere, I can manually control the fan  from the quick access app.
