Acer nitro 5 doesn't turn on after new thermal paste

Recently I changed my thermal paste on my Acer Nitro 5 N20C1 and cleaned the fans, when I put it back together and tried to start it nothing shows up, if I plug it in the battery indicator shows up but as soon as I press the power button again the battery indicator dies. I noticed as I press the power button sometimes the light indicator turns on for a millisecond and then dies along with the battery indicator. I tried resetting CMOS battery by unplugging it and holding the power button for 30 second, same with the battery, still the same. Tried turning it on with one ram at the time, tried to boot with no ssd but still the same. What the issue could be? Is the motherboard screwed?

By doing what you have done the power issues should not happen if you did everything correctly. Open the laptops back cover and unplug the battery and press the power button for 10sec, keep the battery unplugged for 5 min, as any work done on a laptop internally you need an anti-static wrist band also and the battery has to be always unplugged as you could have shorted a component out due to a component short and/or static charge internally? Try that first and then see if the laptop fires up? As by taking the thermal module out and cleaning fans and repasting the cpu/gpu you could have caused a problem?. Let us know what happens after you unplug and plug the battery back? Btw, I know all this as I’ve got a Nitro 5 laptop and have done 1000’s of hours of work on PC and I speak from personal experience.

I unplugged the battery and left it for like 20 minutes, I plugged it back in and it's still the same. When I applied thermal paste I made sure that I put everything back together the way it was before. When I saw it didn't work I tried reapplying thermal paste again after dissembling it again. When I did it I didn't use anti static band and yes, the battery was still connected.
