can't install evo 970 plus driver - PH315-53

Hi to all,

my laptop is : PH315-53

BIOS Version : 2.04

Windows : 10

i bought and install a samsung evo 970 plus NVME M.2 disk. i wanted to use Samsung Magician but when i open the Samsung Magician i can see the disk name but everything is N/A and also the app is saying " ssd information could not be verified due to system compatibility issues " after these i tried to install evo 970 plus driver .. But after choosing the language.., I encountered an error that says : "Samsung NVM Express Device is not connected. Connect the Device and try again."

i go to bios to change something ( that might be help me) but there is nothing in advance and main menu about m.2 or ssds ...

I tried to enable legacy mode instead of UEFI ( i though it might be useful ) : always the same problem, the UEFI is the only option available.

I have absolutely no idea and what should i do to fix this issue..

Hi,
Go to Safe mode and switch to AHCI for SATA mode in BIOS, this is the procedure to achieve this:
1. Go to start and type RUN, type msconfig in the next window and click OK, move to Boot tab and select Safe boot.
2 Switch SATA mode to AHCI from Intel Optane with RST.
You can now install Samsung NVMe driver, then you can switch to normal boot by removing the tick from Safe boot box in system configuration.

Hi agian , Thanks for your help . I did all the above steps, but in the safe mode section .. there is a problem in installing the driver (I think Windows Installer has a problem and I'm not sure) I get this error in the log file: "Error 0x80070641 failed to install MSI Package and ... " what should i do ?

Hi,
No, you don't have to install the Samsung driver in Safe boot mode, you need to use it only for changing the SATA mode, once you switch to AHCI, reboot and change to Normal boot,then you can download and install Samsung NVMe driver.

Finally I installed the driver (but when I return the boot settings to the original state the driver is not installed when I return to AHCI it shows its driver. and on the defult boot settings it does not let me to install the driver and get the device is not connected ...

what should i do?

Hi,
Did you install the driver in Safe mode or after switching to Normal mode? Which driver are you trying to install? could you please post the picture of BIOS Information tab and Main tab, also please post the picture of Device manager showing Storage controllers expanded.

@brummy At first i installed it on safe mode .

second, i just can use the drive when the boot settings is ( SATA > AHCI )

Hi,
I have clearly asked you to install the driver in Normal boot and not in Safe boot, use Safe boot only for changing SATA mode, go to Device manager, expand Storage Controllers and post the picture please.

No, you can stay in AHCI and it's fine, if you switch back to Intel Optane with RST mode the driver will not function.
