Acer Aspire E5-575G - Laptop integrated camera resolution reduced after Windows 10 update

My Acer Aspire E5-575G laptop's integrated webcam resolution is 720p. This was working at 720p resolution for few months of purchase. Some update in 2019/2020 had spoiled the camera resolution and now though it says 720p, the actual resolution is only 360p as tested by webcamtests dot com. The low resolution clearly shows in zoom or other video conversations. The drivers are up to date as reported by Windows and no update is available. Roll-back option is disabled as well. There are some related threads in this forum but without any working solution. Can someone help with a solution?

@perfy do not reset using acer oem. why?
driver is old & preinstalled apps discontinued. oem windows build with windows 1607 or below. if you want to reset. just reset using cloud. just accept product discontinued. 😁

I don't get you. Are you suggesting not to install Windows below version 1607?

I don't think it matters much as long as you get a version that's around the time the laptop was manufactured. I use v1511 simply because Microsoft either disabled or deliberately restricted useful command and diskpart prompt troubleshooting options and workarounds in later versions.

@perfy yep.. below windows 2004 not supported. you wont get update & security update from microsoft.

Still doesn't matter. Windows will continue to try to update to the most recent major version compatible with your machine. During that process, the errant Win10 update that might've caused the problem can be identified, reversed and blocked as long as System Protection is turned on in Control Panel's restore point app.
