Hi guys,

Recently upgraded my 8gb RAM 2400mhz to 32GB 2667mhz.

Before i did upgrade i checked on commandprompt that it supports 2667. After upgrading ive been trying to see what mhz its running at and its still running at 2400 mhz; is there something i can do to get it up to 2667?

What is your laptops model number? As your laptop might only be able to run up to DDR4-2400MHz memory speed hence and why if you put DDR4-2666MHz it runs at the DDR4-2400Mhz lower speed only, also and.if you mix two different memory modules and one is at a slower speed the memory always runs at the lowest speed, check your new memory and if its paired with the same specs? Also run the Crucial System Scanner as that will tell you what RAM you have installed and what is the most suitable RAM for your laptop, as that could also be a problem.

    Hi @KASH1511,

As far as RAM speed goes, Ryzen 2nd Gen do better then the 1st gen with slower RAM speeds, however faster is always better. I've seen some benchmarks that put the difference between 2666 and 3200 at about 4 to 6 frames at peak.
