Annoying high-frequency squeak when connecting headphones to the laptop Nitro 5 (an-515-55)

Hi! I have a new Acer Nitro 5 (an-515-55) with windows 10x64. When I'm connecting my headset - Apple Earpods, I always hear a very high frequency periodic sound (I tried this headphones on other devices - it works well. Also try another headphones without micro - still get that noise). It doesn't matter is my pc powered from line supply or not - again, still get that noise. I've already reinstalled audio drivers. What can I do? Can this thing be fixed?

Try disabling the Nitro's internal built-in microphone

    Nope, didn't help :(
  • Does the same problem occur when decreasing the sample rate?

Apple TRRS CTIA headsets use a different ground/mic ring/sleeve configuration than the OMTP headset jack used on most non-Apple laptop mainboards. This can certainly cause the squeal by switching mic output signal directly to ground causing input signal distortion thru the common ground.

As far as headphones are concerned, the internal mic should still be disabled or squeal can result

If you still experience the issue with OMTP headsets, you can try setting different frequency response and bit rates in Control Panel's sound tool. Most folks tend to set them too high. Try experimenting with different values.

Yes, I tried to change sample rate both ways, and try different headphones (with and without mic) - still got that problem( I'm going to reinstall WIndows, but I think this won't fix the problem too.

What other peripherals do you have attached to any of the external ports?
