Okay
so I went home for spring break and for some god forsaken reason I
completely forgot my charger for my Acer Nitro 5 pc at my dorm so I had
to use a replacement. My mom was able to give me one but it was a
charger for a HP and much smaller. We looked up the voltage though and
my Acer takes 19V while the charger gives 19.5V which we determined was
fine so I started using it. No noticeable problems at first other than
the fact the charger didn't fit so it would come loose a lot. Then one
morning the problem started. I would keep turning on my computer and the
keyboard would light up for like, a second and then it would turn off
again. Ever time I'd do that it would stay on for a little bit longer
but would still eventually just shut off. Eventually I got it to stay on
for an extended period of time and thought okay that's good. The next
morning it just didn't turn on at all. So I just left it alone until I
got back to my dorm today. There I let it charge with the right charger
and it's doing better but unfortunately I think if I exhaust it too much
it still shuts off. I started playing Disco Elysium and my computer
turned itself off twice after playing it for only probably 10 minutes at
a time but doing other normal tasks doesn't seem to cause it. I was
hoping getting it to the right charger might help but it still isn't
doing great. What should I be doing now? Should I even be using it at
the moment?
Model Num: N17C1 (I don't have any info on the temporary charger I used I gave it back to my mom)
