Hi, before disassembly my R13 y need to know the thickness  of the thermal pads and type of paste. I assembled many Desktops using White paste coming with Intel CPU. I have seen gray in the market. Please advise. Fans looks clean. CPU went till 80C using PassMark test. Fans very annoying in Zoom meetings because in this application the speed goes up and down.  Sounds like you in the beach and the waves coming and going, lol. In PassMark the fan speed is constant.

The thickness that I use are the 0.5mm and 1mm thick pads, as they are the most common. The best and only way to know exactly what your pads thicknesses are, is to open the case of your Acer Aspire R13 and take one of the pads off and measure the thickness of the OEM pad, btw you can reuse the pads 2 to 3 times and if they haven’t been removed, they can be reused. As far as pastes and pads I use the Thermal Grizzly range and especially the Kryonaut Extreme or the high performance thermal pads of the Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad series that consist of a very elastic and flexible surface area with very high thermal conductivity, compensating for even the smallest of gaps between components. Available in a variety of different sizes and thicknesses. So try that
