PH315-52 power button not responding. Takes multiple tries of long and short presses to switch on

Hello, I have been using my Predator Helios 300 (PH315-52) for about two and a half years now, until recently its been operating just fine until it started giving me trouble when I shut it down. After a full day of work (Civil engineering design) the computer will not respond when I press the power button after shutting down, it takes multiple tries of long and short presses to eventually turn it on. My windows is up to date and I recently updated my BIOS hoping to fix the problem but it did not help. My battery is usually fully charged and the blue light will come on when connected to the power adapter. I have less trouble getting it to turn on on some days than others. I have resorted to just closing the lid when I need to put it away. everything else is working fine. I can not visit the Acer store for help because there isn't one in my country. the laptop was ordered online from the US.
