Anyone know how to switch on the wireless capability Acer Aspire ES1-512 C50S

Does anyone know how to switch on the wireless capability on my Acer Aspire ES1-512 C50S?

I have tried quite a lot of different ways and still doesn't switch on?

I've tried:

1 Unticking the X in the power management of the network card
2 Switching on the wifi wireless manually
3 Switching the flight mode on and off
4 Uninstalling the network drivers and rebooting to reinstall
5 Altering the power management settings to 'never' and all other variations of the power button/lid closing/etc
6 Searched in BIOS and doesnt seem a facility for power management or wireless
7 Tried holding the Fn key and the F3 key down at the same time and nothing
8 Tried resetting the network card
9 Tried the troubleshooting facility

The troubleshooter always says that the wireless wifi needs turning on. Maybe there is a driver that needs updating, but I do not know which one on the acer website?

Can anyone help?

Press the Windows logo key and I at the same time on your keyboard, then the Settings app opens.
Click Network & Internet.
Click WiFi on the left, and toggle the WiFi button to On.
Restart your Acer laptop and try to connect to WiFi and see if it works.

Hi Leyam,

I tried that and it does turn on to blue and shows that it's on.

But, it still doesn't connect or anything because it must be still switched off.

In fact, if I go down to Flight Mode and look there, it shows wireless is off and it's greyed out so that I cannot change it or interfere with it?

Hi @garylea,

# Try to get the BIOS page.

1. Turn OFF the unit.

2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
3. You will be in setup utility page.
4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.
