Nitro 5 Trackpad issues - I'm not dragging! Stop that!

Something I noticed in the 30~ minutes I've had this laptop (Been saving for a while!) is that the trackpad seems to be a bit annoying, with one specific issue;
Upon tapping, there is a ~.5 second window where moving the mouse cursor will be treated as if my finger never left the trackpad.
This has repeatedly led to accidentally singling out tabs, opening links I never intended to, selecting text where I wished to simply tap on something and move the mouse out of the way, etcetera. Is there a way to remove this behavior from the trackpad?

And yes, it made just writing this post exceptionally difficult where it should not have been.

    (This issue has been resolved. Settings -> bluetooth and devices -> trackpad -> taps -> toggle "double tap and drag to multi-select". I thought it wasn't it!)
