Aspire 5 Why does the volume control work better on some websites than others?

Some FB, YouTube, and various news or entertainment videos are VERY hard to hear, even when volume control on the laptop (Acer Aspire 5 N19C3) AND the websites are turned up full?
On other sites the volume is fine...cannot discern a pattern.

The av files that the amateur moviemaker-wannabees upload to the video website determines the max audio volume, not your laptop.  A pattern is indiscernable cuz there are thousands perhaps millions of wannabees who don't know how to use their av file recording equipment very well. And only a small percentage who do.

That's true Jack, but this issue directly coincides with my recent Acer Aspire purchase. Previous Toshiba laptop wasn't a high-end item, but never exhibited this audio issue to any noticeable degree. I'm going to chart what exact sites are having the volume issue for further discussion.

You might try to disable (or enable) auto volume control to improve this. Follow some of the suggestions in this link. A lot of it is try this, that and the other thing. Hit and miss. Win7 & LinuxMint seem to be better in their default fresh install states than the latest crop of Windows. I still find a lot of volume variation in web videos though.

Just turn this on. You might have something similar on your old laptop (under various different feature names like "night mode").

How do you get to that page?

You must have the realtek audio console installed. Search start menu 'realtek'. If installed it'll be near the top of the menu. If not, go to this link and enter your machine's full model number, for example A515-43 to see if the console driver is available.
