I first purchased my Nitro AN515-51 Laptop about four years ago, though last month I ended up having to take it in to get repairs. The AC adapter port on the side of the laptop needed to be replaced, and after initial errors kept popping up (Laptop kept blinking between 99% and 100%) the repair place ended up providing me a replacement battery and AC adapter cable, completely new. Now, after about 2-3 hours of High Performance usage while it is plugged in and fully charged, the laptop displays a "98%, Plugged in, Not Charging" message on the battery icon on the toolbar, and the light on the side that displays a battery charge blinks orange rather than the solid blue when it is at 100%. After letting the battery drain from it's displayed 98% down to about 94%, it takes a charge again back up to 100%
I have calibrated the battery (i think) at least three times by draining it to as close to 0% and recharging it to 100%. I have also held down the power button on the laptop for about thirty seconds on boot after shutting it down.
I'd taken it up to the same repair place and they did not notice any problems after letting the laptop run and recharged it, for several days. Is this a matter of a poorly-calibrated or faulty battery?
