Problems with streaming services (Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime) on Aspire ES1-572
Hi there! I have an Aspire ES1-572 with a 6th generation 3i and Windows 10 OS that has been giving me issues with my streaming services since July '21. The worst is Hulu. When I try to play a Hulu show or movie, it will give me a RUNUNK13 error code over and over and OVER again, anywhere from 5-30 minutes (no joke, I've timed it, and it's usually on the longer side) until finally it will play, and I can't pause it or even mess with the volume or it will stop and give me the error code again. Netflix will play but it often gives me an error code or 2 first, and then takes about 10 minutes to get there. Both of these are the same on the app or online. Prime I only watch online. It plays, but is very slow to load. This was like a one-day-to-the-next thing, starting with Hulu. It was fine and then it wasn't. And it was fine for 4 years, so it's not my wi-fi speed or anything like that, none of that changed. I also checked my wi-fi speed recently and it's around 40 Mps, which is fast enough for streaming SD (I think!). I thought it might be related to a Windows update, but I checked and the closest update was January '21, so I guess it's not that? The laptop has been trying to update to Windows 11, which it can't, so I finally turned off updates but that's been a fairly recent thing. I also tried running a sfc /scannow and no corrupted files came up. I've just been living with this problem, but it's recently been getting on my nerves so I've been trying different things to see if I can fix it. So far, no dice. Is there a way to fix it? I'd love to have this laptop last until 2025 when Windows 10 gets phased out, but if there's no way to fix it I'm not against replacing it. The main thing I use it for is streaming videos, so this is very annoying! YouTube and things like aetv.com run fine, and when I play Netflix or Hulu on my phone, they run like a charm. I've tried customer service for both companies and they can't find anything wrong on their end. Any ideas???
