acer xf250q 240hz monitor only showing 120hz

I bought this monitor and I am using a display port that comes in the box and its only showing 120hz I have a dell pc but I can run 200 fps in league of legends I have 3.4ghz and 8 gigs of ram but I don't a graphics card the display port is connected to my motherboard do I have to get a graphics card so I can plug the display port into the graphics card so i have get 240hz pls help.

    Which Dell model do you have? They should have specs on the builtin video ports. You don't really care about the HDMI version at this point, because you are using DP.

    If you can't find the Dell model number, what processor is installed? Since you have onboard video it's likely that the GPU is built into the CPU, and that might tell us enough to guess at the output specs.

    Yes, the GPU built into a 3rd gen processor won't support that high frequency. You really do need a GPU that's modern enough to handle that load.
