I was about to change the thermal paste and thermal pads on my Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-55), but I noticed I order the wrong size pads (0.2mm and not 2mm, please don't ask). My solution was using thermal paste on black chips near the GPU which should be its memory.  Can someone tell me if it was a good idea and do you think it's going to harm my laptop? I use it for work so I need it up and running for now, if anyone thinks that it was a bad idea and it's going to harm it I will change the thermal paste with pads as soon as possible. I did check the temperature and it looked fine. Thank you all in advance!

@BulletInMyHead thermal paste won't work because the VRAMs have big gaps. You can try to stack those 0.2mm pads together for temporary or disable the Nvidia GPU in the device manager.
