Hello everyone,

I just got an ACER NITRO 5 AN515-45 (Ryzen 5800H + Nvidia RTX 3060) and the display colors are terrible. When I put it side by side with my old laptop, which is an old work SAMSUNG, the colors look very dull and dark. I've went through dozens of forums trying to find a fix for this and nothing works. My old laptop has 250 nits and the ACER has 300+.
Can someone please let me know if this is some factory defect? Thank you.

Samsung do make the most superior monitors as far as brightness and colours are concerned (I know this as I've used their smartTV's for ages so don't compare) and also its different technologies, btw brightness NITS doesn't matter as anything above 200 nits is enough. What matters is the panel technology and IPS is far superior in terms of picture quality unless you're gonna be playing competitive games.

The AN515-45 has a 15.6 inches. Matte coating, PS LCD at 144Hz refresher rate, 141 ppi, resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which is exactly the same as what is on my AN515-56 and my monitor works perfectly and great as I've got all the drivers up to date and its running on Win-11.

    AN515-45 Display tests
    Contrast - 1371:1
    sRGB colours space - 65%
    Adobe RGB profile - 44%
    DCI-P3 color gamut - 42.5%
    Response time - 3ms
    Max. brightness - 300 nits

All you can do is get all your AMD drivers up to date and the last NVIDIA RTX-3080 graphics up to date (btw, uninstall the old NVIDIA driver completely with DDU) before you install the new driver, make sure that all is up to date, like windows update also. If your monitor is still not to your satisfaction then contact Acer in your area and get them to diagnose this problem under warranty and fix it.

Hello! Thank you for the help. I will update all the drivers and reinstall the GPU drivers using DDU first.
I understand that SAMSUNG makes great monitors but my old SAMSUNG laptop is a 9 years old, baseline machine. Monitors have improved a lot in 9 years, not just in resolution but also refresh rate. I'm guessing this is either a factory defect or some software/driver issue. It would be very disappointing if this is the default monitor quality for this laptop. Thank you once again!

I think I've fixed this issue by changing the AMD GPU settings. On the "Display" tab, enable the color temperature setting and max it out to 10000 and increase saturation till 150 or more.

Hey! Pls consider these settings under
    AMD Radeon Software > Display

    It seems at least acceptable.
