Dear Acer Community,

I did update BIOS by Windows Update to the new version but after do that I had some problems so I decided reflash again but in this time I used the installer from Acer website. Installer did reflash from 1.47 version to 1.47 without problems so this was strange because I readed on this forum that installer should not update bios if we have this same version or if we want downgrade bios. I wanted check if this was happen because bios from Microsoft was different or other issue so I decided reflash my bios second time by exactly this same installer from Acer (1.47 version).  I was suprised because installer did reflash again without problems. Is it normal? I contacted with Acer Support and they told me that installer should not step forward if my bios version was this same like this from installer update.

Someone can tell me if you can do two times reflash this same bios version from Acer installer 1.47 for Aspire E5-575 ?

Thanks!

Some firmware reportedly can, and some firmware cannot, be reflashed with the same version. Usually identical ACER versions do not alllow this. Downgrading is however usually more complicated with both Microsoft and ACER versions. However, everytime you try to flash an otherwise functional machine, you risk adverse side effects or worse. So I strongly advise against trying to run the ACER version twice if your machine seems to be functioning properly.
