Problem with installing the Wireless LAN Atheros driver on Acer Aspire V5-531 with Windows 7x64
After downloading (to another PC) and extraction on the target laptop the driver "Wireless LAN_Atheros_v10.0.0.274_W7x64_A.zip" from Acer website, error 0x80004005 for data1.cab appears. I tried versions 10.0.0.274 and 10.0.0.225 but the problem is the same. Laptops of this series were sold with Windows 8.1, but a friend gave me this laptop because of a damaged HDD. I replaced the HDD and installed Windows 7 x64 Home Edition OEM version - all drivers were installed except for the wireless card (also Bluetooth, but I don't need it). The problem is that this model does not have an RJ45 interface, i.e. a wired network adapter, so I cannot connect to the Internet other than via wifi to download the necessary updates using Windows Updates. Help on various forums ended with links with "Error 404" pages or: Open "Settings" then "Network Adapters" and run ... . It looks like Joseph Heller's "Catch 22"...I will be grateful for your help...
