Hi everyone, i thought I might see if I can get help on here. I have a Acer Aspire 1 15.6 n4500 laptop and I tried to upgrade its ram. Earlier this morning I went to Best Buy and bought a new ram stick 8gb 2400mhz and when I installed it the the laptop, my laptop fan span really fast and was very loud, Also the screen was black, It didn’t turn on. Can anyone help me fix this problem?

You have bought an incompatible 8GB RAM, it has to match the OEM 8GB DDR4 Memory. Put the old RAM into your laptop and run the "Crucial System Scanner" so that you will know what is the compatible RAM for your laptop. With the fans, its because of the new incompatible RAM increasing heat and putting extra stress on your laptop, also your fan/vents are dirty and need cleaning or the fan has bearing problems, so check all this but the most important is that your RAM is not compatible.

We need more info on the model you have. I'm guessing it is likely a A115-32-xxxx, but might be a different model in the A1 line. The full model number should be on the same sticker as the SN and SNID. If your laptop is one of the A115-32 models, that memory is too slow, you should have 2933MHz memory instead of 2400. Some of them shipped with 3200MHz memory installed, but they ran it at 2933, they just got a good price on the 3200.

    Hi @AdrianRamos,

Are you getting any light indication when charger is connected.
