A little while ago my fan started to make some weird grinding noise and from what i've read this happens over time with these laptops. So it looks like i need to replace my fans, and while doing that im going to  re-paste as well.

My question is, what is the best replacement fan and best paste to get? Also any tutorials on how to do both, Im hoping it's a simple enough job i wont need to take it into a shop and pay big bucks for something i can do myself. Im in Canada if that helps for parts.

Thanks in Advanced.

The CPU/GPU cooling parts for your A517-51 only list the "Thermal Module" that includes both fans, there is no individual CPU or GPU fan listed, also there are 3 different modules for 3 different GPU's like the 1050K1, 1650 or the 1660Ti. Best is to see the branding on your OEM fans and do a web search for those same fans as they are available individually. Also use the high end "Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme" paste which is the best.

where did you find these parts? and how do i find the branding on my fans? when i cleaned out my laptop the last time i couldnt see my fans because i would have had to take off the entire heat sink.

@Dundun you can try to clean these individual fans first. Those blades can be taken out by lifting upward gently for cleaning inside the fan bearing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye-mGes7gzs. Thermal paste I think work the best is Thermalright TFX which is good for laptop for less pump-out effect.
Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!
