My laptop supports usb c charging but its not working.

I updated it to windows 11 and it still dosen't work.

The laptop charger im using is ment for a Hp chromebook.

It's a 45 wat usb c.

The model for the laptop is SF314-42.

Thanks!

Specs call for 65W (20V/3.25A) USB-C Power Adapter, so if the adapter you have doesn't do 20V it won't work. There are plenty of them out there that will however. My guess is the HP adapter doesn't do 20V, it might be 15V, or 5V, or... The 45W just means it would charge slower with the laptop off and potentially not charge at all with the laptop on.

I have the same laptop. But charging through USB-C is only possible with 65W charger or stronger.

I know this is an old thread but. Anyonev have any luck?

I used to be able to charge my AcerSwift 314 with a USB-C charger that was meant for a MacBook (presumably it was 65+ W). This was a few years ago. Now I can't seem to find any USB C charger that'll work. I did reset my computer at some point and am wondering if there are drivers that are missing? The usb c still works though to charge a phone. But I can't charge the computer through a usb c charger even though it is 65W. ???

Which SF314 model do you have? On most, if they support USB-C charging, they require 20V. A lot of the third party chargers only do 5V, or maybe 15V…

    SF314-51.

When you say requires 20V, what does that mean exactly? The charger I have in my hand is labeled 5V==3A, 9==3A, 12V==3A, 16V==3A, 20V==3.21A 65W Max. I've tried a number of different chargers (usually looking at the Wattage, so not sure about the Volts) but they haven't worked so far. But I know for sure that a few years ago I used to charge my computer with a mac USB-C charger!

If the charger says it can provide 20V at 3.25A, that's 65W and it should work. at 3.21A it's just under 65W, but should still work. The key is that it provides the 20V… I've seen chargers that max out at 15V that wouldn't work.
