Nitro 5Why aren't my headphones connecting to USB?

My headphones recently stopped working with my Acter Nitro 5. I have 3 USB ports and no matter which one I plug it into, it doesn't work. At first I thought it was because I had too much stuff plugged in with my USB extender thingy, so I unplugged everything and tried it again with each port but it still wouldn't work. The weird thing is, if I have my USB extender thingy plugged in and I plug my headphones into it with my keyboard and mouse and whatever connected, it shuts off everything in the USB port extender, sort of like it's overwhelmed itself so it shut it off. But my headphones used to work fine and work fine with everything else, but shuts off when I plug it into any USB port in my laptop. If I plug in a lot of stuff they all work, but not my headphones, so I don't think it's because of it costing too much power. What could I possibly do to fix this?

Do the USB plugs work with a USB drive or other USB components? Also, check your headphone's USB plug as it could be faulty, if not then you have to do a complete delete of the USB root hub and other fixes, see this guide “Headset not working on Windows 10
