Fix Nitro An515-52 hinge?

The plastic bits with bolts holding the hinge all broke and only one bolt is holding it in place. While trying to fix it, some plastic bits got stuck on the bolt and now I can’t remove it (planning to use a soldering iron to melt it and get it unstuck). Also planning to drill through the hinge to attach rivets and new bolts. The problem hinge is the right side attached to the keyboard, not the display.

I need advice on how to tackle this.

Will there be any parts that might be damaged from heating the bolt to get it unstuck or drilling?

Will the bolts and rivets prevent the screen from closing fully?

@RRGR so the plastic bits is stuck on the screw mount? Try using a plier and break it instead of heating it. The rivets might bulging up on the middle cover and can push the bottom of the screen a bit upward so you will need to tape the rivet heads to prevent scratching the screen bezel. You can also use some oil to lubricate the hinge to prevent stiffing and damaging screen hinge bolts when opening the laptop.

@AnhEZ28 Thank you for your answer, let me clarify a bit. The plastic  bits with screws (I’ve been calling them bolts) refers to the mounts, they are all broken except 1. I got some plastic bits into that 1 working one so now it won’t unscrew (I’ve tried  everything but heating it).

@RRGR I see. You can use a small tool like a sim ejector or a small pick to pry that plastic bits out. I'm afraid that heating will cause the plastic cover to melt.
