Power Button Acer Aspire 5750G doesn't work

Hi there. My laptop doesn't turn on because it is not possible to press down the power button. It has worked before but got worse over time, and now it doesn't work at all. Would exchanging the power button board 55.RFD02.001 be the solution? And if so a) Is there only one model? On an Indian page (https://sparesale.com/Acer-5350-5750-power-board-5750g-5755-5780-Ls-6902p-LS-6905P) I found two similar items, the difference seems to lie mostly in the length of the cable. Or did I simply do the wrong search? b) To exchange the board does the whole laptop have to be opened or is there a way to do so as explained in another context by JackE in the thread https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/560342/my-acer-aspire-5750g-laptop-is-not-turning-on?breakffcache=f3259 (sixth post of the topic)? Thanks in advance for possible advice.

Yes, the correct part no. is 55.RFD02.001 and it is only one model. You can also google search the same part as "55RFD02001" which may reveal more vendors who ship to your location.

Yes, you must remove the upper cover and keyboard to access the power button board. Google search the keywords 'aspire' '5750g' and 'disassembly' for videos and instructions on how to remove the keyboard and top cover.

Thank you very much for your help. Together with a friend we will see what we'll get done after ordering the power board. It will take a while but if it works I may post it here.

    Hi @Charlyy,

Are you getting any light indication when charger is connected.
