BIOS updates are necessary when and if your system doesn’t perform in aspects that the BIOS update fixes and in this case of your E5-475 the last BIOS update version 1.21 that is titled “1. Improve System Performance” is what it does and will not do anything else. Yes I know that the title is basic but its your responsibility to perform the update properly as allot of consumers update their BIOS and cause damage and that is why Acer warns consumers “Upgrading your system BIOS incorrectly could harm your Acer product. Please proceed with caution

Note: any BIOS update has to be done cautiously and the consumer has to make sure that their system is performing 100% and is up to date within their OS that can cause a crash or a BSOD or your system is prone to BSOD's, never run any software while updating BIOS, disable any anti-virus and malware applications, always do the update on mains power and not battery power and make sure that the power source to the laptop is functioning 100% without any chance of a power disruption. If all the above precautions are followed and are done then your Aspire E5-475’s BIOS update should be successful.

What problem does the machine have that you think a BIOS update will fix?
