Built in mic not working Acer Swift 5 January 2022

Followed suggestions in previous posts but to no avail. The built-in mic is not working. At this point, I am running Windows 11. All updates have been installed. Device uninstalled, reinstalled, driver updates, and more.
What are the chances this is faulty hardware? Anything I should try before committing my PC to the lab?

We need more info to try and help. Which Swift 5 do you have? The model number should be something like SF5xx-xxx-xxxx and it's usually located on the same sticker as your SN and SNID. Does the mic show up in Device Manager, it should be in Audio Inputs & Outputs? Does it also show up in Sound Settings? Can you show us a screen shot of the Inputs section? Also perhaps a screen shot of the mic section expanded...

    Hi @yahooki,

Select Start > Settings > Privacy > Microphone . In Allow access to the microphone on this device, select Change and make sure Microphone access for this device is turned on.

Try installing Zoom and doing their audio test. My mic has very, very low volume but Zoom works well which proves it's not a hardware fault.
