H there!

Trying to upgrade a Swift 3 with a 2 TB Samsung SATA SSD but if this is plugged in the system hangs within the acer logo screen.
No reponse on F2 or F12. Already tried the following:
1) BIOS / UEFI is 1.0.8 latest.
2) SSD was intially brand new / completely blank
3) Tried all BIOS secure boot on / off / bla ... features
4) Optane Module removed
5) Completely installed Windows 10 UEFI boot mode onto the SSD in another computer.
6) Checked / updated SSD firmware version
7) tried again the prepared SSD ... still does NOT work...

Meanwhile I'm quite sure its a UEFI bug. Due to 5) im sure the SSD works properly.
I already have lots of different Samsung SSDs ALL working properly in different computers.
Any clue? ACER what about a FIX? What about a legacy BIOS mode without all the UEFI *****?

Sounds like maybe you didn't disable the Optane, so the system is trying to use your new SSD as Optane memory, and that's not working. Take the SSD back out, go into the BIOS and change from Optane to AHCI or IRST, then clone the original drive to the new SSD and install it. Use the F12 boot menu to choose the SSD as your boot device and once you are comfortable it's working right then wipe the partitions from the HDD and reconfigure it as a data drive.
