Hello all, i have an Aspire 3, it was turned into a school laptop, i am now done with school, and i need to reset it, so i can use it. when i turn it on, it loads for a minute and then goes onto a screen with the error PXE-E61, then either comes up with  a thing saying to use ctrl alt del or loads into a grey screen, and doesnt load any further. is there any way to fix this or do i need to just scrap the laptop?

Press and hold power button till machine shuts off. Turn it back on and immediately tap the F2 key to enter the BIOS Menu.

    (1) Does the HDD or SSD show up in the BIOS INFORMATION tab?
    (2) Are F12 and D2D options enabled in the BIOS MAIN tab?

Post phone photos of INFORMATION & MAIN tabs if possible

  • I also advise pressing f9 to restore and f10 to save and exit. Then try pressing alt+f10 before the acer logo. The alt+f10 command will only work if the hard drive has not been formatted.
