How do I install Ubuntu on Nitro AN515-57? It has VMD Controller set to Intel.

I have been trying to find a solution for installing Ubuntu/Kali on my Nitro AN515-57 as I have this storage configuration :
1) Manufacturer SSD - Windows(installed by manufacturer)
2) External SSD - One where I am trying to install my Linux/Ubuntu
3) HDD - The Obvious massive Storage.

I have tried installing ubuntu in my 2nd SSD so that it has fast boot-up but upon reaching the installation screen, I don't see my HDD nor my second SSD. I have searched on the internet and read on various blogs/posts and it revolves around the SATA configuration of storage devices and that we can change that option by CTRL+S. After using the specific key combination in BIOS, VMD Controller(Set to INTEL, with some iRST) appeared instead of SATA and I have searched on that as well and now it turns out VMD hides the drives or something around those lines to increase performance and reduce redundancy. I want to install Ubuntu/Kali on my second SSD and what happens if I switch off the VMD Controller? Is there a workaround for me to have a sort of dual boot setup without losing any data or corruption of any sort?

Hard Drive 2 = Second SSD, where I want to install Ubuntu.

Are you trying to install Ubuntu or Kali?

Can you describe your step by step Ubuntu installation procedures? particularly the page where "Whether you want to install Linux to the Entire Disk". Do you see a small drop down menu for disk selection there?

You need to turn vmd off , but if you do that you may have issues in windows. There is a ask Ubuntu guide about trying to make a vmd windows work without it but eh its not great

To turn vmd off you need to head to the uefi, and then hit control +s as the first thing you press, one you do this under one of the other tabs either vmd or RST will appear , vmd to off or RST to ahci mode and you should be able to see your disks in the installer

I am trying to install Ubuntu for the time being and I dont see any disk apart from the SSD where windows is installed, apart from that I dont see another disk even when I have 3 drives in my System.

What kind of issues will I be facing if I switch off vmd?

Windows will blue screen untill fixed, the drive will use more power and be a bit (un noticibly) slower

You need to enable safe boot on windows, before disabling vmd controller. Press windows+r, type msconfig, go to system startup, enable safe boot, restart windows and disable vmd controller in bios.
