Aspire 5 doesn't come with a backlight as advertised

Seriously, how is this even legal? I looked up the exact serial number, and the spec sheet, manual, and sample images all claim that it should have a backlit keyboard. And yet the key to enable it, F8, doesn't have the backlight symbol as described by the manual. The keycaps aren't even translucent. I can't get justification or reasoning for this from Acer because apparently, the warranty expired although I literally bought it three days ago. Anybody else had this happen to them? Had a similar run-in with Asus when their spec sheet claimed my laptop had a fingerprint reader a few years ago.

Sorry but which Aspire 5 model are you talking about, give us the numbers e.g. A5xx-xx? As there are allot Aspire models with a  backlit keyboard.

When I enter my serial number, the model number it gives me is Aspire A514-54. The manual on the specs page has documentation for a backlit keyboard and its corresponding key. Its image on the website also shows the backlight and the backlight key.

Oh and: I checked my warranty manual. It says I have 90 days of software warranty and 1 year of hardware warranty. I ordered it three days ago and it arrived yesterday, brand new. I have no idea why it claims my warranty already expired. Probably gonna call their customer service. Feels like false advertising.

I don't want to go through the pain of interpreting all the legal stuff in the warranty manual, but does my case technically count as a defective product and is it technically covered by the warranty?
