My laptop is less than a month old, however the battery drain seems excessive, even when shutdown it can lose up to 10% overnight. When in use I am not getting anywhere near the supposed number of hours it claims to achieve, the Acer store says approx 12 hours, I realise that it's dependant on usage but the battery drain even when switched off is alarming.
Any advice would be most appreciated

That would make sense, the dongle is using it's radio to stay connected to the mouse and keyboard even when they are not actively doing anything.

The USB 3.0 type A port on the left side of the laptop is an always on port for charging devices as well as the normal USB functions. If you have something plugged in there it will continue to draw power even when the laptop is off. Is there any chance that is what you are seeing?

Thankyou so much for the information, I do indeed have a logitech unifying dongle located in the USB port so I will take it out and see what difference it makes.

Sweet! Good to know it's sorted, and gives you something to look for in the future if it shows up again. :)
