Aspire Vero AV15-51 My HP Offijetpro 7720 printer prints in black and white only - HELP!

Hi.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer several times and the problem seems to have gone away but once I turn the laptop/printer off overnight the problem is back again.  I seem to lose printer options, like double sided printing, and also the printer prints in black and white only.  Other devices using the printer are not having any problems.  
Generally I am happy with the Acer Aspire Vero I bought but this is driving me nuts!  Any help greatly appreciated.

    The problem seems to be resolved.  There was a new windows update that I did.  Then I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP drivers and it's now been stable for a day and a half so I am keeping my fingers crossed.  Thank you for your help

    (1) Where did you download the latest OfficeJetPro7720 driver from?
    (2) What Windows version? Win10 or Win11?
    (3) What full Vero model number? For example AV15-51?

    Hi Jack
    (1) I went on to the HP site and downloaded HP Smart as they recommended.  Then added the printer once the scan had identified it
    (2) Windows 11
    (3) Acer Aspire Vero AV15-51

    (1) Did the HP download site that you used show the follow message?

    HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 Wide Format All-in-One Printer series

    Choose a different product series
    Detected operating system: Windows 11 Choose a different OS


    (2) What applications are you printing from? For example, Word? Excel?

    (3) Have you opened and tried using HPSmart's diagnose & fix app to address the issue? https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1716406-1413451-16

    (1) Yes it did
    (2) Word and Excel.  Have just tried Outlook and same problem there too
    (3) Yes.  It found no problem and the problem is still there after having done that
  • Does this issue only occur over the wireless connection?

    Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' near the top of the next pane. Scroll down and change the current checkbox setting for fast startup. Shut down Windows normally. Test it again.

    I had only used the laptop on Wifi.  I changed the setting to not use fast start up, restarted and problem still persists.
    I then changed the connection to a cable, restarted, and problem still persists.  When I click on printer properties none of the options that should be there, like double sided printing, are showing
  • Try uninstalling all HP programs. Then uninstall and delete the hp printer driver via device manager and restart the computer.

    If you open the exact same Word document the next day, has the printer setup options changed in the document itself?
