Hello, I know it's pretty late to ask but I have nitro 5 AN515-43 laptop and in the Acer website they inform that the laptop support 5GHz wifi, but when I checked the hardware through cmd, the device
only support up to 802.11n which is 2.4GHz. Does anyone have any idea how to enable it?

Thank you in advance

    Hi,
Go to Device Manager, expand Network adapters, right clock the Atheros card and select Properties, move to Advanced tab and click Wireless mode, check whether you have "Dual band a/b/g" available in the Value window.

  • Yes, it supports 5ghz band, see:

But it is necessary that the router also supports the 5ghz band, see:

I see. I'm currently using Linksys E5600 and it does support 5GHz, I figured there might be something wrong with the driver so I tried reinstalling it but no luck so far...

I have the same with cmd "netsh wlan show drivers" and this is what my Internet access says with my 5G which is connected 100%.

And my Wi-Fi/BT card also supports 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g and 802.11n which this card is a Wi-Fi 2.4/5G and a BT, check your modem as the card works 100% and also check this cards settings as shown above.
