I just bought an HDMI that is 1,4 V. I connected it to my monitor but the highest HZ I see is 60hz. Why? My laptop model is Nitro 5 AN515-54.

@witcha Does that monitor support refresh rate higher than 60HZ? Make sure that you are on the external monitor display setting not the laptop display.
Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!

    Hi @witcha,

Go to NVIDIA Control Panel, select Change resolution. 2) In the Refresh rate pull down menu, select 144Hz or the highest refresh rate available and then apply the settings.

Most of the monitors I have seen(I work for a competition company), do not support 144hz for HDMI, but only for DP or DVI. Even if the monitor is 144hz, make sure it supports it ON HDMI port as well.
