Aspire 3 Acer Care Centre says "Attention required" for my battery. what should I do?

I am using an Acer Aspire 3 for the past 7-8 months and today when I checked my battery using Acer care center, it said "attention required". what can I do to solve this? and is there a way I can set the battery charging limit?

Sorry, your battery pack has lost over 50% of its original 37wh energy capacity design. If this laptop is still under warranty, you should have the battery replaced under warranty repair. This is an abnormally large capacity loss and suggest the battery has a shorted cell. The AP16m5j is commonly used in many of the A3 series so new replacements are quite inexpensive. About $25-35usd depending on the vendor and region.

Go to the elevated command prompt.  Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport'. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity.

Some newer AcerCareCenter apps allow charge limits. But usually not needed or recommended. Go to this link. Enter your machine's full Acer model number (for example A315-42), and check the apps section for AcerCareCenter updates.

@ZYBORXELLER mine also same but after several weeks. it say battery "good". just keep check whenever you open notebook. my aspire E5 almost 4 years. i know battery aint good.

Thanks a lot. And is this just a random mishap or does it happen due to a particular reason? and once I replace my battery, can I just use my laptop on 100% battery and plug it in all the time?

Likely random high rate of deterioration.

Yes, I leave my laptops plugged in and fully charged most of the time. They might get cycled only once every few weeks when I have to use them travelling. I have a 11-year old dual boot ACER netbook still with its orginal battery.with an even older manufacturing date. In fact, I'm using it right now in this response. This longevity is unusual and random too. Most batteries typically lose between 10-20% of their design capacity each year even if only sitting on some warehouse shelf. So they should only last between 5-10 years from their original battery manufacturing date.

Arguably the worst thing for a battery is to allow it to discharge below the critical low charge level of about 5%. When this happens, batteries tend to develop too much internal resistance and can  no longer charge or discharge at a  high enough current to be useful.

Hi, I am having troubles with the battery of my ConceptD 3 Ezel. 2 days ago, it was working perfectly while plugged or unplugged. Today I unplugged it, and it the battery died in just 10 minutes. I never let it hit the critical low that is mentioned above or touch the settings. When I plugged it in the charging adapter, it was showing a charge level of 100. So, I looked up for solutions. I did the pin reset on the bottom as indicated in multiple websites referring to this particular problem. In the report, it display
