Predator Orion 5000 : How to clean the fans ?

Hi all,

I would like to clean the 2 front fans.

The problem is that there is no access from the front. Inside, a gate blocks the access too.

I have seen some kind of screws that can be pinched with pliers. To obviously remove the complete front of the PC. But the manipulation seems to me dangerous.

Does anyone have a solution?

Have a nice day.

If the case is anything like 3000 series case, you should be able to remove the front panel by simply pulling it. I believe that under the PSU shroud is another pair of plastic stubs keeping the front panel in place.

Are there any screws under those folding headphone stands? I'd also remove the other side panel and check the bottom of the case for obvious screws that need to be loosened before doing anything else.

EDIT: Is there an easy way to remove the top panel? Maybe it needs to be removed first as it might hide additional screws under it?

Which PO5-xxx-xxxx model do you have? On most you remove the ODD then remove the hot swap drive then pull the front bezel off from the bottom, watching to make sure you don't muck up those attachment hooks at the top. With the front bezel removed you should have direct access to the fans.

    Hi GotBanned and Billsey,

    Thanks for your help  :)

Yes, that's right Billsey, but the power button cable needs to be disconnected. Because it is glued.

I can't completely remove the front part.

Glued? No reason for them to do that. :(

My own PC dusting duties are taken care of by ITDusters CompuCleaner Xpert Air Duster. It is a bit pricey, but blows dust away like nothing else!

There should be enough slack in the cable to allow you to move the front bezel out of the way. Maybe it's curled up inside along with some of the other cables?

How do you remove the special screw? Its hard to stick a screwdriver in it. I’ve tried using pliers unsuccessfully as I dont want to force it, any help? Thanks!

It looks like it is not a screw. Notice how the plastic has that split? You press the two sides of the split together and push it out.
