Not so expensive desktop parts (processor and gpu) recommendation - Aspire E5-571G

I currently have Aspire E5-571G laptop. Upgraded with 16 GB RAM, 4 GB 940MX graphics card and i7 8th gen processor.

But still my laptop struggles in playing games at even medium settings and a very low resolution like 1024x768. Looks like this 4GB graphics card doesn't make sense.

I'm not a gamer but I like to play games released before 2015, especially like some of COD older games, GTA5 and CSGO. But when I play them at lower settings, I kind of miss the higher settings. I can even afford to play at 1366x768 instead of 1080p, but what I need is high quality textures, high quality grass, lights and shadows so things look more real.

I can somehow achieve this by turning off almost all high settings at playing a very low resolution, but I don't have fun then.

Now, as you know desktops and laptops and PC parts have become very expensive. I want to buy a desktop but prices are not in my budget. I had planned to buy a desktop with i5 10th gen processor and at least NVIDIA GTX 1650 or 1660 graphics (for example). I don't have any reasons, but many people recommend at least these. But it goes 30% above my budget. And looks like these PC parts aren't going to be cheap any time soon, until 2022. My laptop really doesn't have any problem except this poor graphics card.

So my question is, is there even low hardware recommendations (Processor and Graphics card) where I can play these games with almost high settings (not ultra) and 1366x768 or 1280x720 resolution, efficiently?

Sorry, your CPU and GPU are in the form of chips soldered to the mainboard. They are not replaceable. However, the external HDMI and VGA output ports might take better advantage of the GPU and give higher resolutions than possible for the internal screen

    VGA port up to 2048 x 1536: 50 Hz
    HDMI port up to 1920 x 1080: 60 Hz

If you shop around you can most certainly setup an excellent all round and gaming setup for your needs for a cost of and below USD $1200.00. I’ve just done this setup for a friend that cost USD $1200 its an AMD Ryzen 7 - 5700G (you can go more budget than this with a 5600G), 32GB (2x 16GB) at 3600 Cl18 RAM, ATX PC case, TUF gaming B550 wifi mobo (you could go more budget than this mobo also) a 27” curved 165hz monitor, mechanical keyboard mouse combo, rgb 240mm aio wc, 3x rgb fan case fans and it’s an excellent all rounder desktop pc for everything including for gaming and especially would be for gaming that you play, btw I also used his Samsung 512GB M.2 boot drive and spinner 1TB hdd from his laptop to save him some dollars. There are lots of ways to build a budget desktop with different payments to suite every budget as your Aspire E5-571G is not upgradable with a GPU or a CPU and its RAM at 16GB is the max that you can go and is a very limited gaming platform. Save up and then sell your laptop and combine the funds to build an above desktop
