I have a Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55 and can't find anything to clip my anti-static wrist band on, someone recommending taking out my laptop's charger and using the metal on it's end, they also said to have it plugged in? is that even safe? would it work?

Use an external grounding point around you with the wrist static band

    I can't find one.

There are lots of grounding points on your AN515-55, use the motherboards screw down points, loosen one of the securing screws and attach the wrist bands ground to that as that is a good and convenient grounding point also.
